How do I place a bid on Horse Power Bids?

Create a free account, browse active listings, and click “Place Bid” on any vehicle you’re interested in. You’ll need a valid credit/debit card before your first bid is accepted. Once you bid, you’ll be notified in real time if you’ve been outbid so you can stay in the running until the auction closes.

Yes, a small buyer’s fee is added on top of the winning bid. 3.5% of the winning bid amount. We have capped the maximum fee at 3.5 lakh.
Every listing on Horse Power Bids goes through a review process before going live. Sellers are required to upload clear photos, disclose known issues, and provide ownership documents. We encourage buyers to use our in-listing Q&A feature to ask the seller directly. However, buyers must do their own due diligence before placing a bid.
Absolutely, and we strongly encourage it. Contact the seller directly through the listing to arrange a viewing or a pre-purchase inspection (PPI) by a mechanic of your choice. Winning a bid without inspecting the vehicle first is always at the buyer’s risk.
You’ll receive a notification with the seller’s contact details and next steps. Payment and vehicle transfer must be completed within the agreed timeframe (typically 3–5 working days). Our support team is available to guide you through the RC transfer and documentation process.
Sellers are required to declare the loan clearance status and ownership details at the time of listing. We strongly recommend buyers independently verify RC details through the Parivahan portal and obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the seller’s financier if applicable before completing payment.
If a seller has materially misrepresented the vehicle, report it to us within 48 hours of taking delivery with supporting evidence. We take misrepresentation seriously — it can result in the seller being suspended from the platform and may affect the resolution of the transaction.
You can bid from anywhere in India. Vehicles are listed with their current location so you can factor in transport costs. Many sellers are open to assisted logistics — ask them directly through the Q&A before bidding.
Some listings have a reserve price set by the seller — a minimum below which the vehicle won’t sell. If a reserve price exists, it will be clearly marked on the listing as “Reserve Not Yet Met” during bidding. Once the reserve is met, you’ll see “Reserve Met” and the highest bidder wins at close.
Bank transfers (NEFT/RTGS/IMPS) are the primary accepted methods for high-value transactions. UPI may be available for deposits and smaller amounts. All payments go through verified channels — For other payments contact us directly.

How do I list my vehicle on Horse Power Bids?
Sign up, complete your seller verification, and submit your listing with photos, a detailed description, service history, and your asking/reserve price. Our team reviews every submission before it goes live — usually within 24–48 hours. We’ll contact you if anything needs to be clarified or improved.
Listing is affordable starting from 990. Horse Power Bids charges a seller’s success fee only when your vehicle sells — a small percentage of the final sale price.
We recommend researching comparable recent sales on the platform and factoring in condition, service history, modifications, and demand for your model. You can set a reserve price (the minimum you’ll accept) or opt for a no-reserve auction to attract maximum bidder interest. Our team can offer guidance if you’re unsure.
You’ll need the RC (Registration Certificate), valid insurance, PUC certificate, and identity proof. If there’s an outstanding loan, you’ll also need the loan account details or a foreclosure letter. The more complete your documentation, the faster your listing is approved and the more confident buyers will be.
Absolutely — in fact, modified and custom builds are some of the most exciting listings on Horse Power Bids, and our platform actively welcomes them. However, there are a few important things to keep in mind.

First, full disclosure is mandatory. Every modification must be listed clearly — engine upgrades, suspension changes, custom bodywork, aftermarket exhausts, ECU remaps, anything that differs from the factory stock specification. Buyers have the right to know exactly what they’re bidding on.

Second, document your build wherever possible. Invoices from the workshop, receipts for parts, dyno sheets, or before-and-after photos all add enormous credibility to your listing and directly drive higher bids. A well-documented custom build tells buyers that the work was done with care — not hidden.

Third, be aware that certain modifications may affect insurance, road legality, and RC compliance under Indian motor vehicle regulations. It is your responsibility as the seller to disclose this honestly. Horse Power Bids does not verify legal compliance of modifications, and buyers should conduct their own due diligence before bidding.
Standard auction durations are 7 days, though we offer options ranging from 3 to 14 days depending on the vehicle type and seller preference. Rare, high-value, or classic vehicles often benefit from longer auction windows to attract serious buyers.
The best listings have honest, detailed descriptions — including known issues — clear photos taken in good light from multiple angles (exterior, interior, odometer, engine bay, tyres), and a complete service history. Buyers on Horse Power Bids are enthusiasts. They reward transparency and penalise vague listings with lower bids or no bids at all.
If the auction closes without meeting your reserve, the vehicle does not sell and you are under no obligation to accept any bid. You can choose to relist, lower your reserve, or switch to a no-reserve format. We’ll share bidding activity data so you can make an informed decision.
Early cancellations after bidding has begun are strongly discouraged and may affect your seller rating on the platform. If you have a genuine reason (such as a change in circumstances), contact our support team as soon as possible. Repeated cancellations may result in listing restrictions.
RC transfer is the joint responsibility of both parties, but as the seller, you are expected to provide all required signed documents promptly. Horse Power Bids provides a post-sale documentation checklist to make this process straightforward. We recommend completing the transfer within 7 days of the sale.
Once the buyer confirms payment through the platform, funds are released to your registered bank account. We use a secure payment flow to protect both parties — the buyer pays first, and release to the seller happens after delivery confirmation or as per the agreed handover terms.
