Why This Is Special
Knowing it’s a TELCO-assembled car (CKD kit built in Pune under the Tata/TELCO joint venture) is a major selling point for Indian enthusiasts. It gives the car official Indian provenance, making parts sourcing easier and paperwork completely hassle-free compared to private imports.
Only around 2,500 TELCO-assembled units were produced in Pune between 1995 and 1997. Finding a clean, factory Right-Hand Drive (RHD) example that hasn’t been modified or neglected is becoming increasingly difficult.
Unlike older classics that overheat in modern traffic or newer German luxury cars burdened by fragile electronic sensors, the W124 sits in a mechanical sweet spot.
